Answers:

  1. Can I access my results online?
  2. Yes you can. First, you will need to set up an online account with one of our customer service representatives to obtain your user ID and password. Once you have an account with us, go to the Pace BCLabNet/Online Data Access page and enter the account information.

  3. How do I get directions to Pace - Bakersfield?
  4. In the Contact page, you can use the Yahoo map search engine to find the directions to our facility.

  5. How do I open a new account?
  6. Contact one of our Customer Service Representatives to open a new account with us.

  7. What analyses and services do you provide?
  8. New analyses are periodically added to our capabilities. If you want to know about a specific method or sample compounds please contact one of our Customer Service Representative.

  9. What is your standard Turn Around Time[TAT]?
  10. For most analyses the turn around time is up to 10 working days, however, there are many factors affecting this process, such as current capacity, timing of sample arrival ,and reporting requirements. RUSH analyses are available and should be arranged in advance. Samples that require a rush analysis to meet holding times will be subject to the Rush Surcharge. Please refer to our Surcharge breakdown table.

  11. How long has Pace - Bakersfield been in business?
  12. We have been in business for over 50 years. What is Pace - Bakersfield today, started as Bakersfield Core laboratory.

  13. What are your hours of operation?
  14. Our regular business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A limited number of our staff are here during evenings and on weekends. Contact your project manager to coordinate delivery and reporting during non-regular hours.

  15. What Quality Control Procedures are used?
  16. The analytical procedures, from sampling to reporting, follow strict Quality Control operations as reflected in the Quality Assurance manual. The Quality Assurance manaul can be found in the resources section of this website. Project specific quality assurance requirements can be accomodated also. Please contact our QA/QC manager for more information on quality assurance issues.

  17. Should I have my borehole water tested?
  18. This is always advisable. Although the water may appear clear and clean it may contain contaminants that are deleterious to your health. For example, it may contain bacteria, fluoride, nitrates and other elements. In addition, the water may contain high levels of calcium and magnesium that will block pipes and irrigation lines.

  19. How often should I have my water tested?
  20. This depends on several things, but generally the chemical analysis should be done at least annually and the microbiological at least every quarter. However, this should increase after heavy rainfall and if you are supplying water to others e.g. hotels or schools.

  21. Do you provide sample collection services?
  22. Yes. While most samples are collected by the client, Pace - Bakersfield can provide sample collection services for groundwater monitoring programs, waste profiling programs, and wastewater monitoring. Please contact our Customer Service Representative for more details.

  23. Do we need to sample in special containers?
  24. Yes. The laboratory can provide the necessary sample bottles. Otherwise please contact the laboratory directly for instructions on bottle sterilization.
